Concept design for a new brand of green tea. Piece of Quiet. The packaging offers consumers the option of scanning a code on their smartphones to access a Spotify playlist filled with relaxing, chillout songs. It also invites them to create, upload and share their own playlists using the hashtag #PieceofQuiet

Whiskey production in the UK has seen a rejuvenation in recent years (2010 onwards) and I produced this simple label for Hawk &#38; Sparrow, rejecting the traditionalist values of the usual whiskey-drinking market this product is aimed at modernising the beverage and getting a new generation of drinkers involved in whiskey.</description>

Bestival 2012 launched a competition to design an A2 poster for one of the headline acts.

I designed this A2 screen-print for Sigur Rós which stemmed from illustration work I did as a visual response to their music. The second variation uses glow-in-the-dark ink  which charges during the day and becomes illuminated in low-level light.</description>

Branding pitch for Future Ink, a marketing company that specialises in helping universities attract prospective students, future business partners and secure investments.

The pitch asked for a new, modern logo that cuts through the noise and suggests a driven focus, as well as a set of accompanying icons for the different sections of the business (Spark, Inspire, Share, Boost)</description>

An event conceived alongside the library staff at the University of Lincoln to increase student engagement at the beginning of the academic year.

The brief I was presented with was to increase student engagement, get them interacting with the library more and develop more connections to ensure feedback and information is more easily transferred between staff and students.

The Coffee Lounge was devised to give the library more of a human, homely face. It was a one-day event set during the freshers week hubbub and involved a local business Stokes of Lincoln serving free coffee and biscuits to students and inviting them to spend time in the open spaces within the building, encouraging informal interaction with staff and other students.

I worked on the event from it's conception, through it's promotion right through to part-management of the event. It was a great day and proved a great success with the library reporting both a higher participation and better satisfaction ratings in their monthly surveys.</description>

DevXS is a web developer hack-a-thon festival due to run in November 2011. The branding needed to appeal to it's target audience, self-professed "geeks" with a love of computing and technology both old and new. One of the first things I was asked to produce was a teaser trailer to whet the appetites of this market. This 30-second tongue-in-cheek animation got a great response and the festival is shaping up to be a great event.

Kind, an independent bar based in Lincoln, needed new cocktail menus for the launch of their new range of drinks, shooters, private hire arrangements and innovative jam jars (made for sharing!) The look needed to be contemporary and in keeping with their sleek brand aesthetic.

The cover design (including foil-blocked V mark) and some example spreads from the 2011 V Catalogue, promoting the newly revised range of high-end hydrotherapy equipment. The market has moved on in recent years from being focussed on "wellness" and promoting the health benefits of hydrotherapy equipment to becoming "designer" and more "desirable". The catalogue covered two ranges, the mid-level product (Purity range) and the top-end product (Victory range) and had to differentiate between the two whilst maintaining the desirable brand values.
